Are government workers required to belong to the Communist Party?

I know in the United States, being a Democrat or a Republican makes it easier/more likely that you will get a job when your party is in power.

I wondered how that worked in China. ???

not so like that in China.most of the citizen are the member of communist party.

but they no have a job.some of them sell dish in markets.

Government workers arn't required to belong to the Communist Party in China. But it's better to be a communist memeber if one works in government departments.

Communist party members have priority in finding a government job. Some jobs require people be party members.

No, most citizens are not party members.

Actually, there are totally about 70 million members of Communist Party in China.
