for a very new boy visiting China for the first time from Australia would you suggest that Silk Alley would be the best place to buy and what would you consider the best buys there - clothing or whatever - idea of cost ??
thinking -maybe i will bring an empty case - most of the goods we buy here are made in China anyway - the price may be better there

appreciate your opinions - value your comments

Hi, Peter, this is Hope, an old Beijinger. lots of foreigners go to Silk Alley to buy cheap goods.
clothing or daily uses stuff , and maybe other handicrafts.

there's also other markets in Beijing which you can buy cheaper goods. If you want to know them, just feel free to contact me by email: 126.com|yyyj2008

:)hehe.

understood that rain coats -were a good buy as well as clothing for men of style - is that not the case. thought that a suit would be made in just hours for a reasonable cost - is that not true - was told that leather foot ware was a good buy in China.if not will only bring a little suitcase

regards peter
