The function of the capital is only to display Chinese culture and it is not fixed forever. Let me explain it. Xi'an is the capital this year and Chengdu or another city will be the next in the second year. How do you think of it? A survey reveals that about 60% of Chinese citizens support to build the capital of culture. The capital of culture has been popular in Europe for several years. Fom 1999, the EU selects one or two cities from his member countries to be the capital of culture. In one year, more and more activities will be held there to show its unique culture. This attracts the world's attention. And it proves that this move is good for the protection of European Culture. Those who support to establish the capital of culture say that it is a good way to show and protect Chinese Culture. The opponents say that it is not comparable with China's situation and it is formalism. The local government is easy to take the advantage of it and earn money.
