A new selection of New Seven World Wonders has been going on for a long time. China's Great Wall is one of the top 10 finalists. The others are the Acropolis in Greece, the ancient Mayan city of Chichen Itza in Mexico, the Coliseum in Rome, the Eiffel tower in Paris, the Incan ruins of Machu Picchu, Petra in Jordan, the statues on Easter Island, Britain's Stonehenge and the Taj Mahal in India.

The final results will be revealed in July. Let's wait and see whether Great Wall can become one of the New Seven World Wonders.

Do you think China's Great Wall will succeed in this competition?

Good luck, Great Wall.

Well, I do not think it is fair. The criterion of judging is how much votes they got.China has the largest population in the world. If all Chinese vote for Great Wall, it surely will be one of the new seven world wonders.

Agree with Cali. It is said that Great Wall has dropped out of the seven world new wonders candidates. China Great Wall Organization is calling for Chinese people to vote for Great Wall. They cooperate with telecom companies and ask peole to vote through short messages or logging on the internet. Some doubted this move because they think the purpose is not simple. The price per one message is 1 yuan. The telecom company can make big profits from this.

Personally, I think it is no need to launch such a compaign. Just as Cali said, Great Wall is always standing there no matter it will be one of the seven wonders or not.

The tourism benefit are one reason for this. If Great Wall become one of the new seven world wonders, more and more people will come to visit it and good returns will be made.
