I wouldn't mind doing BJ again for the food....and I've heard that the biangbiang noodles in xian are a great local food (haven't been there yet) but I'm pretty bogged at work. If you do the Three Gorges Yangtze cruize or plan to stop by Wuhan let me know. I'll be happy to take you out for some great local noodles. Last month I even found a local dish here that my local friends didn't know about ^__^.

If you have questions about hostels or ticket booking let me know, I'm working in a hostel in Wuhan and have methods ^_~

Best,
m

Hi thanks for your reply
I have been reading a bit about Wuhan, is it worth a trip? The more I research China the more I think I am going to have to come back several times to really do it justice. In fact I am thinking of not going to Xian, as I only have 3 weeks. Any tips would be more than welcome. S

is anyone able to give me info on how long to spend in the guilin region. How long does the boat trip last and is it possible to pick up and book at any time? Where is it best to get the train to and from if wanting to incorporate river trip?

Simred,
I think it's better for you to put your questions in the Travel Q & A. There you will get more answers! : )
Good luck!

Hi Simred
Seems like you haven`t decided which cities to visit yet.If you`re going to Guilin and Yangshuo,I`m willing to give you some information about them.the boat trip from Guilin to Yangshuo lasts around 4 hours at a price of $50,no necessary to book tickets in advance.as to your last question, you can take a train or plane to Guilin, where you can easily find a tour company offering boat trip service.Guilin is my home town,I`ll be back home and staying for a month since August. So if you plan to visit Guilin and Yangshuo in August, feel free to let me know,i`ll offer you more information about it or even be a free tour guide for you if possible.
