![]() | According to Associated Press, the German Chancellor Angela Merkel praised Bush on Sunday for his positive initiative on global warming. "The U.S. initiatives on climate protections are very welcome to us, under the condition that they are channeled into the framework of the U.N. program" said merkel at a press conference. President Bush has long been under attack for his refusal of signing the 1997 Kyoto Protocol. But this time it is good to see Bush take a little bit positive stand. Last Thursday, President Bush proposed the 15 biggest greenhouse emitting countries to convene and set an emission goal. Rarely, Bush can take such a long-term perspective. Congratulations, President Bush is becoming mature! |
