With increasing demands for power, the government in China continues to construct power supplies throughout the mainland. I had never seen a dam project before I took a weekend trip to ShuiFu and Western Grand Canyon Hotsprings. This dam project will be completed in less than 1 year and will flood what is known as the Grand Canyon of the Jiansha River. Because of this, a large, natural hot spring will be lost, as well as an entire destination resort complete with executive lodging, hotels and beautifully landscaped grounds.

Is this a wise move for China's future, or just another "sell-out" for the sake of the Renminbi?

I look forward to hearing your comments.

China is thirsty for energy and power because it is developing fast. On the other hand, it cause more damages to the environment. The payment for development is too heavy.
