The kids have their unique understandings of the world. Do you know how they interprete the marriage? Let me show you.

Chinese kids in the kindergartens:

No.1 Getting married means that those two persons can live together and they may have a kid in the future.

No.2 If the man and the woman love each other, they will get married. The bridegroom will take his bride to the church. That is the marriage.

No.3 We are happy to see people getting married because we will have candies to eat and the adults have wines to drinlk.

No. 4 Getting married means that the man and the woman can form a family and live together.

Foreign kids:

When should we get married?

No.1 84 years old. At that time, we have plenty of time to love and stay with each other. And we need not to do anything.

No.2 When I 'graduate' from the kindergarten, I will think of this question and look for my wife.

What is your feeling when you love a boy or girl?

No.3 If it is troublesome like writing those letters, I will not try because it costs much time.

Is the appearance important?

No.4 It is not so important. I am handsome. But I have not found a girl who would like to marry me.

How can you make a girl love you?

No.5 Tell her that I have got a lot of candies.

How can you make your love last forever?

No.6 Spending more time staying together, not working all the time.

Quite interesting, right? What is your interpretation of marriage?

Probably a child being raised Catholic, Paul.

Art Linkletter used to have a segment in his television show, "Kids say the darnedest things!" My father loved watching that segment of the show...he'd laugh and laugh and laugh at what the children would say.

No, Griz. They are not raised Catholic. I guess that they learn it from the TV. At present, more Chinese young men and women choose the western style ceremony. It is not surprising that they know church.

Lost. To solve problems, you can ask for advice from your parents. You are not alone. To share happiness, you still can be with your parents. It is no need to get married.

I am just kidding. Don't mind. For me, getting married means that you are not a 'child'. You are the real adult. You should undertake your responsibility as a husband or wife.

Getting married means giving all your love to that someone special. Along with your car, home and half of everything else you own.

Lost. I mean that marriage means responsibility. As a husband, you should undertake the responsibility to raise your family members. As a wife, you should take care of your husband and child. At least, you should fulfill it.
