![]() | Source: Xinhua News On May 22 and 23, the second round of China-US Strategic Economic Dialogue was held ni Washington. The meeting mainly focuses on the topics of service, investment and transparency, energy and environment, growth balance and innovation. Both China and US have reached consensus a series of issues. In financial area, before SED III, China will announce to gradually expand the business scope ofqualified joint-venture securities companies to allow them to be engaged in securities brokerages. Qualified foreign banks are allowed to issue RMB bank cards and enjoy the same treatment with Chinese banks. On US side, he confirms that any application by a Chinese bank to establish branches in the United States will be considered consistent with the principle of national treatment, and commits to regulatory personnel exchanges. In non financial services and trade, the United States and China jointly announce an agreement for voluntary energy efficient product endorsement labeling (EnergyStar) certification............... In a word, both of the two nations have made consensus. It is said that the third meeting wil be held in Beijing in December 2007. Hope more positive results will be made. |
