How to Input Chinese Using your Computer

Perhaps there is a sticky somewhere that I missed. When I started to study Chinese, I was looking for a way to type Chinese characters to learn pinyin, tones, and simplified character.

You can download the required programs and files for free from Microsoft. Here is the link for Windows XP. This is only for Windows XP:

Hello EVENING,

Actually, I suppose you could just cut and paste some special Chinese characters everytime. If you know pinyin, you can input the Chinese characters as fast as you can type. For a westerner, or at least me, pinyin is really important. I don't want to call my mother (妈吗 ma1ma5) a horse (马 ma3)!

Yes Chinese has so many homophonic words, fortunately most have different intonations.
Or there will be many misunderstanding or even drolleries! : )
