It is said Dai people sent their boys to temples to learn Dai language and Buddhism knowledge. So there are many 'little monks'. : P Another tradition is that Dai people seek their lovers very early. Little boys and girls can even become lovers! And girls prefer those who have studied in temples. So little monks will be the idealest future husband and they are involved in love affair quickly!
