One of my friends worked in Luoyang and he loved the Water Feast (Shui 2 Xi 2) (水席) very much.

He tells me it is the most popular banquet for the locals to held various ceremony.

There are totally 24 dishes including 8 colds and 16 hots. Each are presented according strict order. Meat and vegetables are combined in every order.

The taste of the dishes firstly fresh, then hot and finally sweet.

The most special is that every dish has some soup accompanied. It is then called Water Feast.

Is there anyone been to Luoyang, or have tried this? How do you think of it?
