![]() | Hello there, My friend and I are going to be spending ten days in Northern China and were wondering if anyone had suggestions on what to see/do. We will be arriving in Beijing from Pyongyang, North Korea on 16 August and departing 26 August. I have lived in southern China (Wuhan specifically) for two years, but never spent that much time in Beijing before. Are there any good trips we could take for 2-3 days out of Beijing to see more countryside? Perhaps somewhere in Anhui? I speak decent Chinese so getting around isn't a HUGE problem, fortunately. Also, any advice on whether or not a day trip to Simatai is worth it? Thanks! |

I went to Huanghua section of the wall last summer on a cycle tour and highly recommend it. No crowds at all and an easy day trip from Beijing. |
