In many rural areas, farms are less and less. Government buys the farms to sell to the factories or real estate companies. China has a large population to feed and the agricultural techonology is not so advanced. Then, with less and less farms, will it be enough for China to feed its people in the future? Maybe many people will become f'ood slavery' instead of 'house slavery' then......

Well, this problem is complicated. The farmers sell their land to the factories or real estate companies and then they got money from them. However, what they got is very little compared with what those factories or real estate earn. And they lose their land forever. Most of them are illiterate or semi-illiterate. What can they do to make their livings? Once I heard that those real estate use force to 'buy' land from the farmers and pay very little. Really sad. Farms are decreasing day by day. "with less and less farms, will it be enough for China to feed its people in the future?" That is what we are worried about.

The government has made it clear that they are reviewing all land sales over the past few years and have been actively reclaiming land illegally "acquired" from farmers. I have been told that they are now using satellite technology to identify buildings constructed on land zoned for agricultural usage. In addition they have made local burecrats personally liable for ladn transactions so we are seeing less and less of these land grabs from farmers.
