Could you tell me what language is spoken in Nanning, Guangxi province,. Cantonese or Mandarin (or other!)

Hello there,if you ask the question because you want to travel or live in that city, I can tell you in the downtown area, almost all people speak Bai Hua (Nanning people call Cantonese as Bai Hua) and people speak the minority language of Zhuang Minority and Ping Hua (another dialect in Guangxi). However, I read many posts in the forums on the web. It is said that now the learning of Standard Chinese Mandarin is very popular in that city. Most people speak it with somewhat accent of different Guangxi dialects.
