Trip to Yu Beng / Yunnan

This is my third visit to China, and we both learn Chinese for two years. Does anyone have any idea about Yu Beng in Yunnan ? How do i there ? From where (Deqin ? Zhongdian ? ) Thanks, Romm

Hi, Romm,

I am just back to Shanghai from Yunnan province in Jun ' 07 after two weeks backpackers experience & Below is my answer and suggestion:

1) Many my friends like Yu Beng which is beautiful by walking.

2) You need to go to Deqin from Zhongdian via bus with round 6~7 hours.

After you arrive Deqin, you can choose accommodation in MeiLi Snow Mountian , which is a place that many backpackers who also want to go to Yu Beng.
Then you can go with other backpackers to Yu Beng to Share one mini-bus rate.

3) If you feel tired for walking at Yu Beng, you can rent a horse instead of walking.

Attention: you can keep your big bag or packs at hotel of Meili Snow Mountain then it will be more easy during your walk or riding horse in Yu Beng.

In a conclusion, if you make a good plan & keep good mood, it will be a happy Journey.
