I went ballroom dancing in Nanning last night. It was wonderful fun, even though I played the role of a "wall flower." For years I've prided myself on being a good ballroom dancer and thought I could dance to any music. hehehe...you might as well have asked me to drive a car on the roads as to dance. I was dangerous...crashing into other dancers who understood the beat and the steps for the local dancing. It was a cha-cha dance without the "cha-cha-cha" and really threw me off.... It was great fun...even though I did not do so well. ;)

I like appreciating dance, but I can't dance. Tango and Waltz are fantastic. Griz326, can you dance the tango?

I have not tango'd for many years, Katrina, but think it would come back to me after a dance or two. That was another dance they did in Nanning that was almost, but not quite the tango I used to dance. There are some excellent ballroom dancers in Nanning.

I didn't know Nanning was fun. Was there a few days' ago and was bored to tears. :(

I took several years of ballroom dancing lessons, JimmyB. When I danced several times a week, I was pretty good...not great...but pretty good.

Oh yes, I enjoyed Nanning. It is a clean and civil smaller Chinese city. The food was excellent. It is true that it lacks historical sites, but it is "a nice little town" with some good exploring (Guilin) and beaches not too far away.
