Hi there -- and thanks in advance for your replies. I am hoping to attend the Olympics next year on a budget and have heard that many of the Beijing hotels will be increasing their prices. Does anyone have any suggestions for less expensive options or other places I might stay? I'm willing to look into hostels if there is some way of booking them in advance. Thanks a lot, Evan

I recommend that rent a short-term apartment where you can enjoy full facilities, which is good way to save your $.

Some hostels have decided their Olympics pricing and are actually taking bookings for Beijing August 2008 subject to a 10% deposit, for example: www.bb-china.com

The only catch is, they are seeking longer bookings, not just a few days.
