New style of academicals for graduates!

My friends, do you still remember the time when you wore the academicals to attend the ceremony for graduates? What do you think of those academicals, beautiful or not?

On July 3rd, Beijing University held an academicals designing competition and might choose the best design to be the academicals for graduates from Beijing University.

I do not like No.2. It looks like the vestments for those officials in ancient times. The No.10 in the third pic is beautiful. The academicals in the fouth pic is also good. It seems that modern people are dreaming of returning to the ancient times. All those academicals resemble what our ancestors wore.

It is strange.

I still prefer mine... I didn't go to the ceremony as it seemed such a waste of money, hiring the gear, staying in a hotel, and taking 2 days off work.. (OK so I was a miserable young git - which explains how I became a miserable old git!)
