I think the U.S. WW2 Jeep should be No.1 since it seems that all others are descended of the Jeep. During WW2, as part of lend-lease, Soviet Russia asked for thousands of motorcycle and sidecars. the U.S. didn't use them and didn't have them in production so we sent Jeeps. The Soviets couldn't get enough of them and used the WW2 ones well into the 1950s.
The German Kubelwagen was good but they did not make enough enough.
Each country now sets its own requirements and each vehicle is good at what it was designed for.
