Hi,

I am going to China for the 1st time in July. I would love to go down the Li River (at Guilin) but I hear it is horribly touristic. Does anyone know of a quiet river where its not very touristed and where one could jump off every 10 km or so to visit a new village?

Thanks!

Hi, friend upstairs!
You said Li River is horrible touristry. I think the reason is that Li River is fairly attractive.

I can recommend the Yangshuo should be the alternative, which situated in the heart of the Li River Valley with Guilin to the south.
May be you can consider the West Street and the Tall Banyan.
Walking on the West Street, you can feel the combination of ancient oriental and western style.

Tall Banyang is one of the main scenic attractions of Yangshuo county. It is said that the banyan was planted in the Jin Dynasty and is now famous for its age and towering beauty.

Okay!Hope it can help you!
