Any travel parnter to Tibet in July-August?

Plan a travel to Tibet in 20th July-5th August, Any one happen to have the same plan? Time and travel line can be discussed.

A local chinese traveller told me that if you travel to Tibet from east to west it is better to travel from 3rd week of august. otherwise you may encounter mudslides and wet weather made travelling difficult. I am travelling from Beijing down to chengdu in mid august. I should arrive in chengdu on 1st sept and then onward to tibet by trucks or coach

This chinese guy I met in 2005 while travelling in silk road in fact was caught in the muslides due to late arrrival of rain eventhough he started in mid aug
