Hi everyone!
Im going to Shanghai this month and Im wondering a few things:

1. What are my train options to Hong Kong from Shangahi, how much is it average wise and most importantly, how long does it take?

2. Where is the main train station in Shanghai to go to Hong Kong?

3. Is there a good ticket site with a time table?

4. Are round trip train tickets that go "BACK" to Shanghai, cheaper than one-way ones?

Thanks so much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Train to Kowloon departs from Shanghai Railway Station every other day. It takes about 29 hours. There're hard seat, soft seat, hard sleeper and soft sleeper for you to choose. Prices ranging from RMB 226 to RMB 600.

Usually, the round ticket is cheaper than one-way ones, but I don't know whether there are round tickets from Shanghai to Kowloon.

Hope other members can tell you more.....

1) There's only one train (T99) which runs every other day. It takes about 20 hours each way. Hard sleeper is 500+ RMB and soft sleeper 800+ RMB, both one-way.
2) Shanghai main train station. It's on metro line 1. Every taxi driver will know where that is.
3) Look on http://www.it3.kcrc.com/B2C/UserPage/sysTimeTable_Eng.asp for the official timetable.
4) No.

1) You could get the tickets at Shanghai main train station ticket office. However I would strongly advise you to buy in advance.
2) You'll need at least a double-entry visa. Or get a new visa in Hong Kong.
