Some of you are not being fair... she is pretty at the very least, and as BBQ said in her introduction, the selection of 'the most beautiful woman' was based on much more than just looks. Unfortunately I do not know anything more of her accomplishments, so it is not possible for me to say if she truly deserved the honour.

Nowadays such terms like "best in the world..", "world's most beautiful.." etc, etc are generously used without much hesitation. It reflects the loosening of standards and reality.
They say "talking is cheap - even free". So just say what you want - who is to contradict what you say and who cares anyway ?

Hohoho !
Wonder whether ALL the Chinese gals were looked at to arrive at such a title. I think the title of "Beautiful Woman" suffices - leave out "Most .. In China".
Indeed we do not know what other criteria were used to determine that title, anyway. But I simply find such glamorous title hard to accept.

What is the notion of beauty? Beauty consists of two parts, inner beauty and outer beauty. A good appearance or a fair personality, which is more important?

Young Chinese woman are very easy on the eyes.

Perhaps they should have run the contest on women in their 50's, 60's, or 70's. The women who remain lovely when the wrinkles set in, the belly thickens and the parts begin to sag are the true beauties. I met quite a few adorable old women on my most recent trip...as well as a few that were not so lovely. When the loss of physical beauty is replaced with by a smile and a cheerful attitude the real beauty remains.

I don't like her very much. It's she beautiful? Maybe. It's she attractive? I don't think so.
