Hey all!

We are goig to Guilin for 2 1/2 - 3 days and i'm trying to plan a schedule. Here is a rundown...mabey some people have opinions/other recommendations?

Bike ride in Rice Feilds
Dragon's Backbone Rice Terrace
Green Lotus Peak
Hot Air Balloon (if anyone has pricing info on this, i would appreciate it)
Longi Terrace Feild
Bike Ride to Dragon Bridge and then raft to Yangshou
Silver Cave
Reed Flute Cave

Obviously we are not gonig to do all these, but opinions on which are more or less worth it would be nice. we don't only want to do Touristy places that are crowded...sometimes other options are also good.

Also looking for a nice water cave..apparently its great..just don't know which would be recommended... Btw, we are leaving very soon, so any help would be apprecaited.

Thank you,

Mario

Hi,Mario,

I went to there in this May holiday. Here was my experience:

I only stayed in the down town one day,go to some parks, like Elephant Nose Mount:-)Two rivers and Four Lakes in the night, you'd better take NO.100 bus.

then we went to Longsheng, and spent two day in there. We arrived in Yao Village first, and then walked to Zhuang Village in the next day,it cost at least 5 hours.Really beautiful place.Back to Guilin.

Then we went to Dayu Old town(If you have interests),I think 1 hour is OK.Then took a bus to Caoping, from Caoping,we started walked at side of Li River, after 5 hours,we arrived in Xingping. It's about 26km.

Then we took a bus to Yangshuo, arrived in Yangshuo in the night!

The next day, biking around in Yangshuo, you can stay in Yangshuo more.

Good luck!

By the way,for Li River,if you don't like hiking, you can choose a boat or raft.

But I recommend to hike between Yao Village and Zhuang Village, the terrace is amazing!

You can see my pics!

Great info California, I'll be looking at copying some of that.

KSWong: Calif went in May so it was not quite so hot, but anyway I would still do it as long as I don't have a packa pack. South China it is hot, if you come here you have to learn to live with it :)
