In recent days, a newspaper conducted a survey. On the issue of whether the legacy tax should be imposed or not, about 68% people think that the legacy tax shoul be imposed.

As we know, the disparity between the rich and the poor in China has become a big concern. Those who support to impose the legacy tax say that it can help adjust the income distribution and lessen the disparity between the rich and the poor. The objectors say that to impose the legacy tax is to deprive the property of the rich legally. To some extent, it reflects people's abhorrence toward the rich. To impose or not should not be voted by the public. If so, it is the violence of democracy. It should be determined by law.

What is your opinion? The legacy tax should be imposed or not?

To impose legacy tax or not shou be decided by our social situation. Some experts say it is not mature to do so. Since ordinary people can gain benefit from it, they support this strongly.Sometimes democracy are not in the majority's hands. The law has its final say.

Of course, Should. Imposing legacay tax is form of the redistribution of the social wealth. dThis move reflects the government's good will. Also, this move is helpful to maintain the social stabiity. I think that any citizen who is social-responsible will back this law. For the rich, the contribution to the community and society is also part of their achievements, and their achievements will be recognized by the public.

If the government really wants to reduce the gap between rich and poor this is one small way of helping achieve that.

There must be taxes ro fund government activities and in a socialist society that is likely to mean more services and more taxes. Yt is best to collect finances from a broad range oftaxes... so a legacy tax seems a good socialist tax.

Depriving the rich? No more than any tax 'deprives' someone of some income. Perhaps the rich should consider how lucky they are to be in a country which has provided them with an education to help them become rich, and how they are more fortunate than others who have not learnt the same entreprenneurial skills.
