Entering Mainland China from Hong Kong

GUEST18967 Hope some one can help,

I only have a single entry visa which will get me to Shanghai OK. Whta if I am stopping in HK and want to visit Shenzhen for a few nights then fly out of HK ? Is it difficult to apply for a visit at the border ? or in HK ?

Do you mean that you want to go Hong Kong -- Shenzhen -- Hong Kong, then fly to Shanghai?
Why not just go Hong Kong -- Shenzhen -- Shanghai, or the opposite direction?
When asking about visas it's imperative to indicate your passport nationality!

GUEST06218 I will be spending 1 night in HK, before traveling on to Zhanjiang. Will I have to go thru any customs/immigration checks upon landing in Zhanjiang?

You have to get to SHenzhen from HK and then take bus to Zhanjiang. When you enter Shenzhen port, you will go through customs/immigration checks.

You are entering twice, so it is ofcourse double entry... can't do this on single entry visa!
