| We are planning to visit Beijing and Shanghai between 13th to 20th October. We are first going to Shaghai and then will take night train to travel to/from Beijing. (1) Is October 2nd/3rd week right time to visit china? (Considering the peak season and also we would like to see the Autumn) (2) We are interested in having Beijing Private tour (personal car). We are total 4 adults. The price on internet for 2 day private tour is approx. 115 USD/person. Is this a fair deal? If we search for the private tour after coming to Beijing then will it be cheaper? (3) Our return international flight out of Shaghai is at 10:30 in the morning. The train from Beijing will arrive in Shanghai at 7:00 in the morning. We only have 3 hours in between. How much time will it take from the train station to shanghai pudong airport? What is the fastest way to travel? |

| Hi,KAUSHALKOREA, 1) Great! You got right time to China since 1st week of Oct is peak season . 2) For your private tour guide, you can find in Sept ' 07 or now . Both OK. The rate you mention is reasonable. Of course, you can nego with your future guide also. 3) Considering possible traffic jam, i don't suggest you to take a taxi & below pls find the fastest and cheapest solution: After you get out Shanghai railway station at 7:00 A.M, you can A- Take subway line#1 directly within 10 mins and it need 15mins to arrive the people's square stop B- Transfer to Subway Line#2 from people's square stop to Lonyang stop ( need 20mins) C- From Lonyang stop, you can directly take maglev train (RMB 40 / Person which need to show your copy of filght ticket with 20% discount, if without flightticket, it need RMB50/Person). Conclusion: you need round 70mins to arrive airport from railway station to airport with RMB45~ RMB55/Person, then you can catch up with your flight on time . Attention: since this fastest rountine is little complex for first time to Shanghai's friend, we suggest you can take the subway line!1,2 during your Shanghai trip period. Enjoy your trip in China! | Hey Susan, Thanks a lot for your response. I guess Sub-way will be the safest and fastest option considering the little margin that we have. Anyway thanks a lot. |

| 1) Yes. One of the prime destinations in China for autumn colours is Jiuzhaigou in Sichuan province, but I guess you don't have time for it on this trip. 2) That depends on where you're going. I would say that it's a terrible rip-off though. 3) Quite rushed. There's a direct airport shuttle from Shanghai main train station to Pudong airport, but at that time of day I think it would take about 2 hours. Taxi might be faster at about 1.5 hours. |
