Homestays needed for traveling Kiwi
Jul 30, 2007 23:13
Hi all,

I am just in the process of maping my itinary for a month in China. I would rather not travel by tour and would like to meet the locals in towns along the way. Do any of you know how I would get in touch with any homestay situations in various parts of China? I know China is a big place and I have some direction however I still have a blank canvas looking for inspiration and local hospitality!

Thanks heaps!!

Couch Surfing (http://www.couchsurfing.com) and Hospitality Club (http://www.hospitalityclub.org) are both good resources.

Hi, thank you all for the responses. How does 'Homestay' work in China? What should I expect with regards to costs etc? I am not a student however I would rather stay with locals than in back packers... I think I will 'Experience' my travels more this way.

Thanks heaps :)

If you stay with a CouchSurfing or Hospitality Club member it should be for free.
