GRIZ326 Points: Join Date: Jun 12, 2006 Status: offline	You may recall my "Is every Chinese woman a tour guide?" post. I asked that because every woman I corresponded with claimed to be a tour guide. Of the many women with whom I exchanged emails during the last year, there was only one woman I made an effort to see while in China this summer. When I met her, she proudly showed me her tour guide credentials (I had approached her claim with skepticism in an email). Whenever we went to a tourist site she always got in free. She actually works for the government and took me to her office to show me her government uniform. I was surprised that the guards would allow an American into a government office when there was no one at work. She is a delightfully optimistic and happy person. I am looking forward to seeing her again. :-)

It seems the English language evens puzzles our American friends Dave, it would be even harder for them to understand our accents what with you coming from Norfolk and me from Somerset, ooh arh,
I glad for you Griz by the way, my first Chinese girlfriend Nina was also a tour guide in Yueyang, Hunan although I met her here in London, she now lives your side of " the pond ", but where abouts I don't know as yet, she will always be a good friend.
