![]() | Yes the IRA often tried to bomb mainland Britain, mostly in London although there was the odd bombing elswhere. I have experienced first hand of IRA attempted bombings, one actually went off and 2 people were killed, it could have been a lot worse had I not done my job properly, I'm talking about the South Quay Bomb where the IRA tried to blow up Canary Wharf, I was on duty at Canary Wharf and actually refused entry to the lorry carrying the bomb, I didn't know it at the time, it only came to light a few day's later. |

![]() | When did the conflicts between IRA and Britain end? Was the " July 7th terrorist attack on London's subway" conducted by IRA? I have heard that it was carried out by some muslims. What is the final result of investigation? |

![]() | Jimmy, the IRA have l hope long gone.Finaly realizing that they could not win by terror but only by joining the goverment. Karl Marx lived in London for a time but did not bite the hand of those who gave him santuary, unlike some of the latest imigrants. Dodger. |

![]() | Dodger's right, the IRA are no longer considered a threat, it was muslims who carried out the July 7th attack, the worry is some of them are actually born in the UK. Karl Marx did indeed live in London and is buried at Highgate cemetary in North London. |

![]() | Am I right in thinking he was the most decorated soldier Griz?, I have always liked his films, shame he died so young. |

![]() | West, the Yanks used to hand out gongs for making it to the sickbay on time. I have met plenty of first class soda mechanics and they had a chest full of gongs for all sorts of activities exept what realy matters. A little bit bitter? yes.. we spent the lives and they spent the $$$'s And then they gave us a Hollywood movie star....give me a break.. Dodger. |
