| No.5 Shanhaiguan Pass in Qinhuangdao. Have you heard of the story of Mengjiangnv? Legend has it that Meng's husband was conscripted to build the Great Wall. She cared very much about her husband and traveled a long distance to see him. However, she was told that her husband had died. She was too sad and weeped for several days and nights till the Great Wall collapsed. Finally, she found her husband's bones in the debris. Driven by despair, she jumped into the sea. Later on, people built a temple to commemorate her.  |
