I have a few questions about children bicycling in China: I do not recall seeing children riding bicycles on the roads in China. Are children not allowed to ride bicycles on the road? If so, how old does a child have to be before they can ride a bicycle on the roads? How much does a new bicycle cost in China?

There arer many children cycling in CXhina..on the roads, on the cycle ways and on the pavement. There are no rules, except that of gravity. You can place as many kids on a bike as you can fit on, sitting or standing. How old... old enough not to fall off too often. Some cities have more cycles than others... the poorer ones for example. I bought a new bicycle 2 years ago for 180 rmb... but I spent quite a bit on repairs!

Thanks Paul. My gal in Nanning is buying a new bicycle for her 17 year old daughter. The purchase reminded me of getting my first car when I graduated from high school so I wanted to chip in. I offered a contribution of $50 USD; I guess that much money could buy a new bicycle. :)
