Since there is no pension system in most rural villages, the new generation of Chinese younsters have to should much more heavy burdens than their predecessors. What is a good way out for 400 milllions Chinese senior citizens? Who should be responsible?

I think this is a problem in most of the world, yvonne.

If the parents did well and saved money then they will be okay. However, IMO, children should be responsible for their parents proper care. Assisted living seniors apartments are very nice for still active older people, but once the elderly person requires care, the care should be provided by the children.

I was in a Senior's living center in Nanning to visit my gal's mother. She seemed happy enough there. This woman is the life of the party and enjoys singing, so she would sing and the other seniors would come and join in. The accommodations were not bad and the people were happy. I wish there had been more elevators for the seniors, but I only saw an elevator in one building.

Ultimately, I believe China will do the best it can.

LEONARDO Points: Join Date: May 21, 2007 Status: Offline	China's social security lags far behind the Western world. Its hugh population makes its stituation gloomy. If the pension system is not handled properly, it will hinder China's growth.
