| Since the late Qing Dynasty, there was a special class in China: the Warlord Strata. The "warlord class' was born in the Semi-feudal and Semi-colonial sociey of China. The late Qing government lost its strong coontrol over the regional military leaders. The warlords fought against each other in order to capture power and territories, which incturn led to the tumult of China for several decades. The infightings between Chinese warlords were not put an end until the founding of PRC in 1949. The famous Chinese Warlords include Zhang Zuolin, Meng Yuxiang, Duan Qirui, Yan Xishan, Cao Kun, Yuan Shikai, Zhang Xun. Have you e ver heard any one of them? Do you know any story about them? Have your contries ever had warlords? |
