Xi'an, the world-renowned ancient capital will launched a plan to revive the layout of ancient capital in the Tang Dynasty soon. Chang'an, which means eternal peace, was the capital of 13th dynasties. This land is infested with historic sites and cultural artifacts. This project aims to change the situation that there was ancient city wall but no ancient royal city. The project involves restoring the ancient historic street and preserving the artifacts. Once finished, the project will demonstrate a panorama of prosperous Tang Dynasty.

Does it really aim at preserving the artifacts? It looks a business investment. What they really want to do is make money.

Is this different from the place called "Tang Dynasty" with the water movie?

Peter, Tang Dynasty is a theme park and quite beautiful. But this plan sounds more ambitious. However, I do believe it's a business more than a culture revival.

To me the Drum and Bell Tower, along with the city wall are inspiring enough to be reminiscent of Chang'an with some imaginations.

There is a large display of Chang'an as it was long ago in one of the buildings at the Terra Cotta Warriors site. It's quite impressive. You can press buttons to light up different areas of the ancient city.

Ouch! Peter. The name of the theme park should be Tang Paradise, not Tang Dynasty. Sorry!! And Queene, actually the Bell and Drum Tower was made in Ming Dynasty. Nothing to do with Tang Dynasty and Chang'an. ^_^
