Over 300000 people in mainland succeeded in winning 1,593,345 tickets, including 26000 tickets for the opening ceremony. The first phase of Olympic tickets started on April 15th and ended on July 30th. The ticket center received about 720000 applications asking for 5.18million tickets. about 72% of the 2200000 tickets has been sold out at the first phase. The second phase of Olympic tickets sales will begin in October and end in January in 2008 and first-come-first-serve policy will be introduced at the second phase. People can reserve the tickets on the official Beijing Olympic ticketing website, the Olympic ticket sales hotline (952008) and at designated Olympic ticket sales points at over 1,000 participating Bank of China branches.
