If you are going to Hangzhou from Pudong Airport the best way in my opinion is to take the bus direct.

The MagLev only goes from the Airport to a terminus in Shanghai.

Hi,SILVERSTAR,

1)can you take the Maglev to Hangzhou from the airport ? if not, how/where?
No, the magleve only arrive at Longyang road station in Shanghai and can't arrive at Hangzhou.

2) If you want to from Shanghai pudong airport to Hangzhou directly, pls pay attention on your flight schedule. Since it has bus from SHA Pudong airport-HZ every two hours from 9:50AM to 19:30PM.
It means you may wait for long time or can't catch the bus if your flight can't arrive within the period.

3)On the other hand, if you take taxi or maglev+subway to Shanghai South railway station or Shanghai railway station, you can take frequency train to Hangzhou.

Also pls remember to check timetable to meet your flight schedule which can help to waste time on waiting.

Enjoy!!

Yours sincerely,

1) Time spent would most probably work out to be roughly the same. However it's much easier to go direct from Pudong airport, of course.
2) No! The Maglev only goes to Longyang Lu metro stop (line 2) in the boonies of Pudong!

Why is it so easy to arrive in Hangzhou and so difficult to get away from? Do you think it has something to do with Chinese 'inviting' foreign interests for trade and commerce??

ELLYSE,

Hangzhou's main airport is in another city. If you are traveling by bus through Hangzhou, there is a nothern station and a southern station. The cab fare to and from these stations is 50-60 RMB. There are no connecting busses. There are scammers to great you at each of these bus depots and offer to shark 100 RMb from your wallet. It's a hassle.

Actually no. I believe Xiaoshan is considered an outlying district of Hangzhou. It's quite common for airports of major cities to be located quite far areas.
I'm pretty sure that there're buses running between those 2 bus stations if only you could read Chinese -- and also note that there're also east and west long-distance bus stations, not just those 2.
