GUEST22101 The traffic cop may amerce the taxi driver if his car overloads.
While it's possible for 5 passergers to take one taxi during nighttime since few traffic cops on duty during the night. LOL.

In Zhengzhou there are lots of lots of larger vehicles that legally carry more than 5 passengers so I am sure they will be in Beijing and other cities too.

If you are five people you should be able to hire a mini van for reasonable rates to get you around the city and out to sites. Trying to fit five adults is a bit of a squeeze, apart from being illegal.

I love the use of this word AMERCE. Only the second time I have ever seen it used. First being on a sign telling visitors what not to do, in an obscure park near Chongqing.
