Some people may just make fun of you and they do not really intend to hurt you. GUEST65171. Do not feel depressed. Confidence is the most important. Those who laugh at you are not worth your respect. Why not let other people influence your emotions? Just let it be!

Obesity is a terrible problem both for the health of the obese and for the people who want not to discriminate but cannot help themselves. I come from potato digging stock (Irish). Were I like my grandparents and their families working in the field I would be as hard and stout as a fireplug made of steel. Being a computer guy, weight has been a constant battle. I have never been thin. Whenever I have been beyond bounds, discrimination is nearly universal. I know that those discriminate do not want to in their hearts, but there is something deep inside that they cannot hide. Few are able to overcome that natural feeling.

Obsesity is not the fault of those obese people. They hope that they can be thinner and thinner. Obesity is a terrible problem both for the health of the obese and for the people who want not to discriminate but cannot help themselves. Why can't they help themselves laughing at obese people? Those discriminate should know what is politeness. They should learn to respect others and try to overcome the 'natural feeling'.

I do not believe you are correct on this point, Kevin0518. >>>>>>Obsesity is not the fault of those obese people. Most fat people will lose weight if they become discipline their eating habits and increase their activity level. While there are certainly a few people with physical problems that cause their obesity, those people are in the extreme minority. Gluttony...one of the seven deadly sins is almost always the culprit - not the thyroid gland.

Griz, you might be right. But it is hard for them to discipline themselves to eat less. They will feel very uneasy just as those drug addicts. Without drugs, they feel that they are going to die. Anyway, they have to experience a very hard period if they decide to lose weight. Hope they can succeed.

All, going back to the days when we all lived in caves the people who could store and save fat, lived through the hard times. It is how the body was meant to be. Famine of feast. This gene still lives on in all of us in some way. Same have more of this gene tha others. So nowthat there is plenty of food to go around ( for some) this gene has now become redundant. There are 3 types of body types and we fall between them. So some find it easy and some find it more difficult. If we follow the principle that we came from the sea we can can see that fat was an inportant part of our make up. In this age it is an impediment to health. Dodger

Yes we are all born equal... so the fat people should get the same amount or bus, train, plane seating as I do, not wallow over into what I paid for. So yes I am sometimes biased against fat people. I am VERY biased against parents ho allow their kids to be fat, it is a form of child abuse. they will suffer later in life. Look at the USA (and to a lesser extent othr western countries) and se how big (!) the problem is. It has started in China too. It is as bad as smoking in the same room as children.

i regret now laughing at fat Americans. i used to live near Port Huron, Michigan, which has the highest concentration of buffet restaurants I have ever seen in my life. when i crossed from Canada to US, people seemed to be a lot fatter over there. And indeed, Detroit has been the fattest American city for years, due to the lack of public transportation and car culture. But now, fast forward ten years, and Canadians seem to be getting just as fat as Americans used to be... It's disturbing, especially among young people who can prevent it by exercising more and eating less junk food. I'm watching my diet these days and trying to exercise more frequently...
