![]() | On September 7th, Forbes unveiled its list of 2007 Best Commercial Cities in mainland. Hangzhou ranks the first in the list. Shanghai ranks the second. The rest of the Top Ten are Nanjing, Wuxi, Suzhou, Beijing, Guangzhou, Ningbo, Dalian and Foshan. In the list of Top Ten, six cities are from the Yangtze River Delta. It is said that they (list maker) have researched 656 cities in mainland. Finally, they made the list of Forbes 100 Best Commercial Cities in mainland in 2007 according to the detailed analysis of the basic data of 194 cities whose GDP exceed 16 billion yuan. ![]() | Six cities are from the Yangtze River Delta. What does this suggest? On the one hand, the econony in Yangtze River Delta has developed fast and drastically. Glad to hear this news. On the other hand, it reveals that China's economy has developed imbalancedly. Obviously North is dragging behind South, especially northwest part of China. I found this ranking on the internet. Xi'an ranks the 65th. The government should give Northwest region more preferential policies and invest more in the regions. The disparity in different regions should be narrowed down. Otherwise, some serious problems may emerge. |
