Quote: About a year ago, a whole factory making mobile phones parts was closed in Finland and moved to China. 1200 people lost their jobs.

Carlos, it is not a surprise. Making more profits is what those makers care most. Why did they move to China? Because they labor here is cheaper and they can save a lof of money for those makers. One day, if they find they can not make more money from China, they will move to other places. For example, Nike has set their manufacturing factories in Viet Nam. There they can make more money.

Talking about protectionism, we can understand why they do so. If they do not protect their domestic enterprises and industries, they might be dead. The direct result is that more people will lose their jobs. But it is not the best way to solve the problem. The government should help the enterprises to develop. Meanwhile, the companies should find ways to improve their competence. Innovation is very important.
