To some extent, face can be measured by money. Just imagine: if your husband did not hold a feast to celebrate your marriage, what will you, your parents and other people think about him? I am afraid that your parents are the first who stand up and say "no". Some people may say that you should not get married if you are so poor. At least, Chinese people do so.

I am not too sure about that. I grew up in a circle where people are not judged by their bank accounts but by their hearts and character. However, if other people believe otherwise, then I respect that belief.

SHESGOTTOBE, face is very important to Chinese people. Getting married is no exception. Parents all want their daughter to have a grand wedding ceremony. It is also girls' dream.
