According to a report from international on-line, a new survey on the ratio of the fat in the world population shows that America has the largest number of fat people. Scotland ranked the second on the "Fattest country List". Mexico is in the third place. Englanders are the fourth largest group of fat people. In England, 23% of its population are fat or to say"obese". 24% of Mexicans are overweighted. 26% Scotlanders are fat. 32% of Americans are obese. The survey also shows that Norway is the fittest nation in the world, and only 8% of its population are fat. The fattest countries are domintantly American and European countries. Their unhealthy living habit and unbalanced diet the main contributory factors.

So what is your question about this topic?

It is a worrying fact of modern life but diets in the west are poor. I work in a shopping centre and i'm surrounded by the usual lot, Mac,burger king,KFC and pizza places but if I want healthy lunch there is very little choice. Have to take my own lunch which means preparing it and less time in my bed each morning. In defense of larger people we need to consider what is a fat person, someone who is 2kg over weight or 20kg?

Hey whats up Obesity is predominantly in western countries mostly because of the availability of fast food establishments at every corner of every block in the US. Its easy to access as it is open 24 Hours, its cheap and its QUICK. Another is that most of us live a sedentary life style. Most own cars, we can pick up dinner through a window and if your too tired to walk around walmart, they got these scooters that are intended for the weak elderly to ride in, now can be used for the obese who have trouble walking. That is why I believe those of us in the western countries see a huge part of our population obese is because its not a lifestyle that is forced upon you such as the conditions most face on a daily basis somewhere else such as those having to catch public transportation home and the economics of eating out than rather eating in. The only thing I enjoy from these fast food industries is the all out war they have in advertisements and commercials which can be pretty hilarious. Danny

Destruckdoz is right on! Most people here drive that's why people don't get a lot of exercise. Imagine, even if you need to buy one bottled water, you have to drive. ^_^"

Yes, to all of the above comments. It actually takes longer to sit on our "butts" in the car and order at at the "drive thru" window than to order at the counter. The increase in the cost of gas(petro) may change this way of thinking to a certain extent. But the fat content in the "fast foods" will not change unless the FDA(food and drug admn.) demands it and that will never happen because of the "fast foods" lobbying influence with our dear government.
