 | Hi, I have a simple question to local residence. Is this a good idea to visit Beijing in 6th~10th Feb. 2008 as a tourist? Since the spring holiday(sorry for the wrong name) is a big one in China, I heard, I'm concerned if the shops and restaraunts are all closed. Please tell me what you think. Good day! |

| The spring festival of 2008 will be last from Feb. 7 to Feb. 13. You will see less people in Beijing but big shops and restaurants won't close! |

| Yes, the shops and restaurants are at their best prosperity at the Spring Festival. It is really a great chance to see how the Chinese spend their Spring Festival, but it is really very crowded on buses, tains, streets, airports, shops, restaurants and others. |

| Spring Festival is also a good time to check out the Temple Fairs in Beijing.... but as GURTY says, it'll be VERY crowded! |
