Beijing/Guangzhou December weather and type of clothing

REDROSES Points: Join Date: Oct 2, 2007 Status: offline	Since I will be visiting other Asian countries in December that are hot/humid, can someone tell me what type of clothing is needed in Beijing -- layered, wool, long underwear, etc. I understand it's cold, but how cold? Also, what type of clothing is needed for Guangzhou and what's the temperature in December?

Be warned that most buildings will not have heating so be prepared to wrap up. I don't know about the better hotels, you might like to check. Most Chinese, north and south wear thermal undies ,in the north because it's so cold outdoors, in the south because workplaces are unheated and because shops and restaurants are draughty - proprietors hate to have the doors closed as they believe it inhibits customers from coming in.
