access to CCTV9 in China

Does anyone know if CCTV9 is accesible on Cable TV in Sanya?

In US I routinely watch it as I find it very infromative, both for national as well as international topics: unfortunately, my cable service here does not carry it.

Is there a 'mechanism' to formally request certain programs (channels) to be carried out by the cable company, as I assume that, if sufficient interest in noticed, the service (channel) may be added?

Of course CCTV9 is available to watch live online, is that an option you can consider in China?

GUESTINTONCANT My TV bill is out of control. In my house we have 3 TVs, each with cable tv service. We get about 65 channels, but no HD programming. My husband really wants HD for his sports. Baseball season is coming and he is anxious to get it. For what I consider limited service I pay $125 a month . Does that seem way too high? What is a better idea if I wanted HD??

Depends on where you are living.
If in the States and living in or near a metropolitan area and with no special packages
i.e. sports packages, movie channels etc. then the costs should be appx. 70 U$.
Of course all of the additional &$#&@@** surcharges, taxes and nit picking fees
they can think of to add on doesn't help the situation.
In regards to HD, you might compare costs with satellite t.v. if available in your area.
Right now, I don't think it's worth the extra $$ but that's just my personal opinion.
