Hello,

I have to visit Chongqing and Shijiaziang in about 2 weeks.
My U.S. travel agent doesn't seem to know a direct way....and I am at a lost....

Since there is no direct flight from Chongqing to Shijiajiang, a friend told me that I need to take a train or a cab from Beijing airport to Shijiazhiang.

Can you please let me know the best and the safest way for me to travel to Shijiajiang?

Thanks in advance...

I found one flight but it is vary late in the evening and may not always be available depending on demand.

China Southern airLINES flight:MU5793 Aircraft:737
Departing 23:00 Depart CHONGQING Date 10/26/2007 Stopover 0
Arriving 01:10 Arrive SHIJIAZHUANG Duration 2h 10 m Dining Yes

For more on this flight use the flights tab at the top of the Web page. Ask your agent to get you on this. If you have your hotel booked the late arrival should not be a problem.

The Shijiazhuang airport is WAY out of town. I am not sure what transport there is into town, not much would be my guess, especially at that time in the morning. However, if you are booked into a good hotel they should be able to tell you, so do ask them. If you cannot get any info msg me and I will see if I can get you help from friends there.

If you have enough time, and don't demand all the comforts of plane travel, there are two direct aircon trains. The fastest one takes 22 hours and departs Cq at 1010, arrives Sjz at 0820, cost for the best sleeper bunk/berth is 570 rmb, or US$75

Shijiazhuang is only about 2 hours from Beijing on the fastest trains.

Sorry, the departure city is not Chongqing, it is Changchun.

You can't unless you contact an agent based in either of those cities. Be warned that most online agents charge hefty mark-ups for this.
You might want to try Richard Tian (public3.bta.net.cn|richards).
When are you travelling, actually?
