I don't think death penalty should be abolished, criminals who are guilty of the most heinous crimes don't have the right to live in the world any more.

GUEST48176 There have been many people put to death who were innocent of the crime they were accused of. It is not as uncommon as people on here seem to think. I personally believe that if someone commits a really terrible crime, like murder, then, if there is absolutely no doubt that he/she was the perpetrator, and only then should they apply the death penalty. If there is any doubt at all, any loose ends left unexplored, even a persistent plea of not guilty by the accused, then the person accused should be given the benefit of the doubt. Lock him/her up. Not so bad then if some new evidence does come to light later. If that person stands up and says"I did it" and can describe all the details and motives to the satisfaction of all parties..then hang him/her. Until then we have to give them the benefit of the doubt. Like someone said..how would you feel if it was your father there in the dock? I am sure you would want him to have the benefit of any doubt if he insists he is innocent and there are some gaps in the current evidence.

The only thing achieved by execution is revenge. It is an anachronism which only serves to brutalise society.

GUESTJALA Death Sentence is vital to work against overpopulation. They should death sentence smaller crimes, like shoplifting too. Amputation are not ok, because it won't help overpopulation. Another thing could be done to help it faster: If someone in a family commits a crime, execute the whole family HAHAHA!!!
