ICBC, the largest lender in China is going to raise its inter-bank ATM charges. The peony card owners pay a fee between 2 to 4 yuan each time when they withdraw cash from the ATMs of other banks in China. Transactions abroad costs between 13 to 62 yuan.

According to the news, the international cross-bank inquiry fee for the card will also rise to 4 yuan since Sep. 1st. Originally, the fee for domestic cross-bank ATM is 2 yuan. But why does ICBC raise it so quickly?

I am surprised to hear this.... I though that a few months ago the government prohibited charging more for interbank withdrawls than from home ATM's.

Me too. I check the news on the internet. It is siad that the move of ICBC is to improve its competence. How absurd it is! I just hear that the sellers reduce the price to win more customers and make them survive. It is the first time I have heard that the competence can be improved by raising the cross-bank ATM fees. I wonder how many people have not heard this news. If it is not reported widely, most of them just think that the cross-bank ATM fees are still 2 yuan.
